Vague ramblings

On fragility

Posted in Life, Musing by Ian Cundell on 15 July, 2013

My long time friend and collaborator Sandra Jones and I have been looking at tonnes of data about where people – especially, but not exclusively, young professionals – live and work in London. In the course of the data-bathing Sandra made the following observation, that is so cogent and powerful that I present with no further comment:

“We have huge number of young Brits encouraged to take on incredibly fragile lives, with unprecedented levels of financial risk, being looked down on by unimaginably wealthy foreigners willing and able to pay massive premiums just to be near the Ritz.

It’s a bit like being a colony”

Sandra doesn’t blog, but you can follow her on Twitter here.
